Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that this year's losses from fires have been of historic proportions. During his speech, Rama praised the State Police for their work during the fire season and the arrest of arsonists.

The head of government also announced that in the areas where fires will be set, construction will be banned for 30 years. He emphasized that in the territories where trees will be set on fire to make way for construction, no construction permits will be issued and that territory will be replanted.

"This year's losses have been historic losses, both in forests and in livestock. This war requires patience and strength. Meanwhile, technology continues to produce intelligent drones to capture the signal. I want to make an assessment of the state police. This season, the police have been able to identify and arrest psychopaths and criminals who set fires. We have made a legal intervention that where a fire is set, any construction permit will be banned for 30 years. If it is a territory that whets the appetite for construction, if it burns, the construction permit will be banned for 30 years. And that territory will be replanted. For this, we are working with the Ministry of Defense to bring planting drones, for the renewal of burned territories. The Ministry of Environment will also be engaged in this," Rama said./CNA
