Protest in Tirana/ Ben Blushi "explodes": You have hatred, it only

Former MP Ben Blushi has reacted harshly and in offensive tones regarding the protests taking place in Tirana.

Through a post on social media, Blushi compares this period to the youth protests in the early 1990s, while adding that citizens are showing a hatred that stems from ignorance.

"I have never seen so much venom on my page, but also on many others, as today. If you are protesters, if you have so much hatred, we are in for bad days from this generation."

I belong to the generation that collapsed communism in 1990. I was a student when I went to the student city, but even though we lived much worse than you, we were much poorer and we were locked in a cage for 50 years, we had no hatred, and that's why that revolution changed Albania, while you, although you have more bread than we did, you have cars and cell phones that we didn't have, you have jobs and opportunities to choose that we didn't have, you have a hatred that, in my opinion, stems only from ignorance.

This is the thing I fear the most. Nothing has scared me more in life than ignorance. I believe in a saying that says that one ignorant person with a plan can defeat 100 wise people without a plan. I really hope that this is not the case and that this beautiful protest does not turn into a weapon of the ignorant with a plan. There are hundreds of reasons to protest today in Albania and the need to vent is very great, but if this crowd is driven by revenge and ignorance, which are the two parents of failure, it will be very bad", - writes Blushi. /CNA
