DP: "Albanian Development Bank", another expensive propaganda

The Democratic Party's Anti-Corruption Spokesperson, Genta Vangjeli, in a statement to the media from the blue headquarters, accused the government of building another "costly propaganda and clientelism mechanism" through the creation of the Albanian Development Bank.

Vangjeli said that although the Parliament has approved the law for the establishment of the Albanian Development Bank and the government has provided 1 billion lek as initial capital, the institution still does not have a strategy, operating model, operational structure or clear development plan.

According to her, instead of these capacities being built by the state itself through institutional expertise, the government has decided to open a new tender for consultancy.

She emphasized that, while the government talks about development, the Albanian economy is facing a lack of financing, small businesses are encountering difficulties and many young people are leaving the country.

The Albanian government is building another expensive propaganda and clientelism mechanism called the 'Albanian Development Bank', while citizens and businesses continue to face high taxes, lack of financing, and a ruined economy.

After the Parliament approved the law for the creation of the Albanian Development Bank and after the government poured 1 billion lek of Albanian money as initial capital, today it turns out that the institution still has neither a strategy, nor a functioning model, nor an operational structure, nor a clear development plan.

Instead of these capacities being built by the state itself through institutional expertise, the government has decided to open another multi-million euro tender for consultancy.

3.3 million euros will be spent on a private company, which will design and consolidate the institutional, strategic and operational framework of the Bank.

While propaganda talks about development, the real economy is suffering from a lack of credit, small businesses are closing, and young people are leaving Albania.
