"Orange, like Edi Rama's socks"/ Noka: Albania does not resemble

The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, today shared a critical stance regarding the political situation in the country.

Through a post on social media, Noka states that Albania does not resemble any European country, due to the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, while adding that according to international reports, our country is ranked among states that coexist with autocratic practices.

 "What European country does Albania resemble today?" 

No one. Albania today resembles Serbia and the Republika Srpska of Bosnia. Rama will be like Vu?i?. Vu?i? like Putin.

Albania is no longer considered a functional democracy, but a system where formal elements of democracy coexist with autocratic practices.

The 2026 V-Dem report placed Albania in the category of hybrid regimes with autocratic tendencies.

Here are some problems:

Weakening of checks and balances on the executive

Problems with and pressures on press freedom

Restrictions on civil society space

Decline in the quality of electoral processes and democratic standards

Albania is included in the group of Eastern European countries where a significant portion of the population lives in autocratic or hybrid regimes.
