The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke to the media outside the Parliament regarding the work on the Territorial Reform. Berisha stated that the Socialist Party is acting against the law and added that their report has not been sent to the Special Commission.

Regarding the DP's proposal for the division of municipalities, the leader of the Democrat Party did not give a concrete figure but stated that the number of proposed municipalities ranges from 90-110.

Among other things, he emphasized that the DP demands the return of municipalities based on possible demographic criteria.

"The report brought by the socialists has not been brought to the Commission. It is going against the law. Edi Rama immediately changes his position when he saw that citizens throughout Albania oppose his Reform. We have our report but we have not made our proposals public.  This act makes reforms in Albania hopeless. Even in the European Commission's report, the two reforms are the conditions for advancing towards the EU.

With our proposal, we have done the work more seriously and have followed all the steps and were waiting for the opinion of the experts. The work of the Commission has not been completed and the deadline should have been extended, but Edi Rama has ordered Arbjan Mazniku to illegally submit the report. These act unilaterally. We have our project, which has a number of municipalities ranging from 90 -110, but communes are added. We are not saying to go back to the previous model. We are asking for the return of communes based on possible demographic criteria. Where there were two or three, one commune should be returned", said Berisha. /CNA
