Prime Minister Edi Rama has spoken about the partnership between Fincantieri and the company "Kayo", saying that this is a new phase in the history of the Armed Forces and a renaissance of the military industry.

"We have entered a new phase in the history of our Armed Forces. The new chapter is not only the strengthening of our entire defense system, but also the rebirth of our military industry. A series of steps have been taken for this and this week another step was taken. The partnership with Fincantieri was extended to a partnership with the "Pavarësia" industrial school of Vlora, as in the new Pashaliman shipyard, the new production base will require 500 young men and women, technicians, engineers and IT specialists. For this reason, this agreement has been made and, in parallel with the construction of the shipyard, work will begin on the training of young men and women who will be selected by "Fincantieri Albania". They will be trained, either in Pashaliman or in the parent shipyard of the global Italian company of excellence on the coast of Italy", said Rama.

Among other things, he also spoke about the approval of the normative act for the 2026 budget. Rama stated that this normative act was made possible thanks to the performance of the economy.

The Prime Minister then focused on the bonus for pensioners, rejecting claims that it was an electoral measure.

According to the head of government, all additional revenues collected from the increase in oil prices, as a result of international tensions and developments in the Strait of Hormuz, were not included in the budget, but were distributed to pensioners in the form of bonuses.

"The highlight of the week was, without a doubt, the June normative act, where once again the economy, which is growing beyond expectations, bringing in revenues beyond expectations, gave us the opportunity to come up with a series of measures in direct service to the people and in respect of all those who demand, quite rightly, even more from the government and from society, through the government. We approved a bonus for pensioners. A reminder here, because we need to remember something from time to time, even though memory is getting shorter and shorter and there are more and more people who don't want to know where they come from. Rama stated, among other things, that the opening of the National Flight School takes Albania into a new phase with the Air Force.

"Meanwhile, young people have been the protagonists of another important moment in the path of transformation of our Armed Forces: the opening of the doors of the National Flight School. Albania is entering a new phase with its Air Force, becoming a platform for training and certifying pilots for the Armed Forces."

It is a National Flight School that will also welcome cadets from Kosovo and from the other two NATO member countries in the region, North Macedonia and Montenegro, and of course from any other allied country.

The school is an extremely important step, carried out in partnership with another company of excellence in the world of the military industry, "Elbit Systems" from Israel, and part of the partnership is also our state-owned company "KAYO", which has already become an epicenter of transformative developments in our defense industry, whose renaissance continues" , said Rama. /CNA
