PDE's message to Rama: Listen to the voice of citizens, rights and the law on concrete power

The European Democratic Party has reacted to the protests taking place in Albania.

Through its reaction on social media, PDE emphasizes that Prime Minister Edi Rama must listen carefully to the voice of citizens and that Europe is not built by treating nature as a currency and institutions as a private counter.

According to the PDE, if Albania wants Europe, it must choose rights over shortcuts, citizens over concrete, and the rule of law over power.

“Last night, Albania’s squares were filled again: citizens mobilized to defend protected land, transparency and public accountability from shady luxury development deals. This is not “against progress”. It is democracy doing its job. And Edi Rama should listen carefully: Europe is not built by treating nature as a bargaining chip or institutions as a private counter. If Albania wants Europe, it must choose rights over shortcuts, citizens over concrete and the rule of law over power”, underlines PDE./ CNA
