Sazan Island for sale or rent? / Prime Minister Rama responds

Prime Minister Edi Rama made several statements today regarding the questions recently circulating around the island of Sazan.

Speaking at the SP's 35th anniversary event, Rama emphasized that Sazani is neither for sale nor for rent.

According to the head of government, the state does not represent the interests of investors, regardless of their goals, but aims to be a participant in projects that remain the property of Albanians.

"We do not represent the interests of investors, no matter how powerful and how 'good friends' of Albania they may be. We represent the interests of the Republic of Albania. In the name of those interests, we have made two fundamental things clear at the table; the island is not for sale, which for the sake of truth they did not even ask for, and the island is not for rent. It is and remains the property of the Albanian state. Meanwhile, the state seeks to participate as a partner in the investment and seeks its share of the investment for the Albanian people," said Rama./CNA
