"I will not be part of the anti-rally"/ Arta Dade rejects Rama: The SP

Former Foreign Minister and one of the historical figures of the left, Arta Dade, has publicly rejected the invitation of Socialist leader Edi Rama to participate in the activity marking the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Party.

Dade has described the Prime Minister's organization as an "anti-rally" and has called for distancing, assessing that the real socialists are currently in the square where youth have been protesting for dignity for 13 days.

According to Dade, the SP has never been a force that organizes counter-protests with administrative pressure. She accuses the current leadership of "occupying" the party and breaking away from its fundamental values.

"The square that Mr. Rama is trying to fill today does not represent the history of the Socialist Party, but its alienation. Mr. Rama is trying to sell the youth revolt as destabilization, but the truth is that this protest has deeply social and leftist demands," the former minister says.

In her statement, Dade also expresses deep disappointment towards those of her former collaborators who have decided to participate in the SP's activities. She compares them to "decorations" of personal interests, saying that they have surrendered their dignity in the face of corruption and arrogance of power.

"It's sad to see figures who once had a voice, today accepting to be used as decoration, driven by petty interests. They have chosen to be on the wrong side of history," says Dade./ CNA
