Integration/ Rama: Like it or not, the SP will make Albania a member of the EU

The Socialist Party celebrated today the 35th anniversary of the establishment of its branch in Durrës. Also present at the event was the leader of the Socialist Party and Prime Minister Edi Rama, who in his speech said that Albania's journey is closely linked to the journey of the Socialist Party.

In his speech, Rama also focused on the negotiation process, saying that today Albania is closer than ever to membership as a result of the strength and commitment of the Socialist Party.

Referring to tomorrow's intergovernmental conference in Brussels, Rama said that before the official announcement was made, Albanians were forced to listen to all kinds of untruths from those who do not want Albania in the EU just because the socialists are joining it.

Rama said that whether the opponents want it or not, Albania will join the EU through the Socialist Party.

"During all these years, Albania's journey was identified with the journey of the Socialist Party. This is a fact. The history of the Socialist Party is the history of a country that needed and must be transformed. The Socialist Party became the spokesperson for the country's needs and at the same time the power that addressed those needs. Today it is unimaginable to talk about a country in search of stability. Yesterday it was not like that. When Albania needed stability, it was the Socialist Party that embodied and guaranteed it.

Today, when Albania is closer than ever, there is only one great reason: the strength, dedication, and work of the Socialist Party.

Anyone who is not part of this big family, anyone who has no idea what it means to be part of the structures, can find all kinds of excuses for losing. Anyone who is part of this family and who is the protagonist of our results, knows very well that our results stem from work, organization, dedication and extraordinary faith, but also an extraordinary will.

Today also happens to be the day before the intergovernmental conference between the EU and Albania in Brussels, where the conclusion of the introductory phase and the opening of the final phase of negotiations for EU membership will be sealed.

This means that Albania, after opening all chapters at the highest speed, is now considered ready to start closing the negotiation chapters.

As always and this time before the official announcement came, what did Albanians not hear from those who simply do not want to see Albania in the EU, if the Socialist Party joins it. But whether those who do not want to or not, the Socialist Party will join Albania in the European Union. Whether they want it or not, there is no other force that has the power and will and commitment and above all has the vision of the Socialist Party , "said Rama.
