The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said during his speech at the meeting with the Democrats in Sukth that the country is in a critical situation today due to the numerous departures. He said that today a nation that is aging rapidly and losing its youth has no future.

Among other things, Berisha said that salaries, pensions and economic aid have increased much less than prices. According to him, this is a major reason for leaving the country and the cause of this situation, he said, the government.

"Today we are in a more critical situation than ever before. The greatest evil of man is that which dually occupies the being or the senses. The truth is that in these 12 years, in one respect, Albanians have not had evil like this, in the sense of the emptying and emptiness of this blessed country.

We come today as a nation without a future. There is no future for a nation that is aging rapidly and losing its youth at lightning speed. Births have decreased by 70%. From 2014 to 2023, 1 million 100 thousand Albanians left for the Schengen area. Of these, 720 thousand are under 40 years old. This is because economic opportunities are decreasing, economic spaces are narrowing.

Since 2013, every pensioner in every country except here should have received three times as much. But salaries, pensions, and social assistance have increased much less than prices.

"The price of basic food is 17% higher than the average in EU countries. This has led to the slow sinking into poverty of Albanians. This is because this government has stolen citizens' wealth and taxes without limit ," Berisha said. /CNA
