"Depoliticization is essential"/ Gonzato: We urge the parties for comprehensive electoral reform

The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, was present at the CoE activity “Support to the Electoral Process Cycle in Albania - Council of Europe Office in Tirana (SECA)”.

In his speech, Gonzato said that electoral reform is a good step towards electoral integrity.

Further, the ambassador said that the CEC has taken important steps in the post-election analysis.

Gonzato stated that depoliticization is essential and electoral reform is a key part of EU integration.

" Electoral Reform represents a good step towards electoral integrity. We urge the parties for comprehensive reform, a good product is needed. The CEC has taken important steps in the post-election analysis and has presented several proposals. Depoliticization is essential. Electoral reform is a significant part of the journey and commitment that Albania has in the first chapter of EU membership, the first to open and the last to close ", said the ambassador./CNA
