New guideline issued/ Noise restrictions during the tourist season

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, today shared new guidance on noise levels during the tourist season.

These are entities that carry out economic or social activities and that generate noise, such as bars, restaurants, discos, nightclubs and other similar activities that use amplified music or electroacoustic equipment.

Based on the new guidance, these entities must respect these noise limit levels measured in public environments:

from 11:00 to 20:00, the noise level must not exceed 65 dB(A), measured at 15-minute intervals;

from 20:00 to 24:00, the noise level must not exceed 45 dB(A), measured at 15-minute intervals.

Through a post on his social networks, Lamallari emphasizes that the goal is to guarantee a quieter tourist season, where vacationers can enjoy public spaces without being disturbed by noise pollution, while adding that the guideline has been drafted in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards for permitted noise levels. /CNA
