Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi spoke after the meeting of the Ethics Secretariat where the decision was made to expel Agron Shehaj from the Parliament for 60 days.

Korreshi stated that things did not go as predicted in the session regarding the reading of the $302 million agreement, emphasizing that 140 MPs would have to wait in line to get acquainted with the document.

"Our vote was against, because as we stated yesterday, Mr. Bardhi and I went and found a completely different situation than the words of comrade Niko, who told us that against the confidentiality signature we could receive the act-agreement and ascertain it. We found a completely opposite reality. Not only could we not receive it, but we had to line up like for kerosene, 140 deputies, to read the act-agreement one by one. This is not normal," he said.

Regarding the comment made about the incident where Agron Shehaj stole documents from the Assembly, Korreshi said that the word "kidnapping" was too harsh to use in this case.

"The word kidnapping seems very heavy to me. The premises are next to the Parliament premises where MPs access. If the material was so confidential, it should have been the chairman of the National Security Committee who accessed and kept the document, not a parliamentary employee," he stated.

According to Korreshi, MPs should have priority in accessing a document on which they must vote.

"Who is more important in your opinion? A member of parliament who has to vote for that act or a parliament employee who does not vote for that act? Explain it to me. Then the members of parliament are 'liquid groshe' to us," he said in an ironic tone./ CNA
