Stockholm syndrome in our everyday life

Stockholm syndrome in our everyday life

32 years ago, a wise old man, when I was talking to him about freedom and democracy, laughed and said: "My son, the Albanians have been beaten since the beginning!... But don't accept less than you deserve, don't settle for less how much you want to get.”

For those who don't know, (especially captious philosophers), Stockholm Syndrome is the situation where a victim begins to have feelings for and love the abuser.

I believe that Stockholm Syndrome is something that we experience in our daily lives. Many times we exist and co-exist in love relationships in which not only do we not earn and receive love, but they wear us down and wear us down, physically and mentally.

Reason? Each person receives and accepts the love and appreciation they think and feel they deserve. If a person is in pain and feels that they are not worthy of being loved and happy, they feel satisfied with a small, very small percentage of the love and appreciation they receive.

Outcome?

The false belief that no one will love him more, while he sits and puts up with people and situations he doesn't deserve. Everyone has the right to love, give and receive true, authentic, selfless love!

If we look at the issue a little more widely: Psychoanalysts should study Stockholm Syndrome, especially among us Albanians.

The psychological breakdown of Albanians by foreign regimes and the Albanians themselves has affected them so much that they have lost the sense of difference between who is the executioner and who is the victim.

We put up with the Ottomans for 500 years, then we fought them and when they fled from us we were looking for them.

We kept Enver Hoxha for 45 years, then we anathematized him, while today they are looking for him, surprisingly, those who were not born in his time.

We brought "democracy" and before a human generation has filled up, we are nostalgic and looking for dictatorship.

We fought for the property, but we demand the damage done to the property, from its hostage takers. Because, can the "victims of Law 7501" find salvation in the former architects of both wings of this infamous law for Albanians and capitalist developments to the detriment of the former owners in 32 years of our terrible transition?

We fought to be free, but we submit without any hesitation to the words and troubles of party leaders, or even get stuck in the trap of not thinking. (And, not only that we have the capacity!)

But this is partly explained by the fact that in victims, the initial fear of the executioner gradually turns into gratitude, that he is "saving" their lives. This "justifies" the surprise of how it is possible for the people to vote and follow the people who have done so much damage to the country by putting them on the pedestal of "heroes".

Because maybe we suffer from the guilt complex and other complexes, which Freud explains, but especially from the guilt complex, that we cannot stand up and show character and dignity to put an end to it!

Because we suffer from the complex of saying "Thank you" even though they have robbed us of everything and make fun of us!

The Stockholm syndrome testifies to the decay of Albanian society, not only moral decay, but also human and, especially, political decay.

And Stockholm Syndrome could easily be named the Chairman's Syndrome.

Politics is perception, as well as a potential skill!

It depends on us whether we will be able to make moves in which we will emerge victorious. However, both in football and in politics, no matter how skillfully you play, in the end a mistake can be fatal, especially when we have turned Stockholm Syndrome into a way of life and action.

The methods of psychological and physical torture, proven for centuries, are aimed precisely at breaking psychologically normal individuals, who make up the majority. Having achieved this, the executioner extends his power and is satisfied with the love that his victims serve him.

Albanians need to be freed from this syndrome, to see the truth as it is./ CNA
