Greek "gift" for a clown president

The Greek provocation to leave Albania out of the informal gathering in Athens, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the historic Thessaloniki summit, more than for the relations between the two countries, served us to understand the ridiculous figure we have at the head of the state. President Begaj has rejected the invitation of Prime Minister Mitsotakis and as a result no one from the Albanian state will be, neither at the dinner nor at the multilateral meeting that will be held in commemoration of an event that determined, two decades earlier, the road map of Western Balkans towards Europe.

At first sight, Bajram Begaj could even say "NO", since the Greek invitation was a camouflaged blackmail. If you look at the composition of the guests, including Vu?i? and Albin Kurti and the Macedonian Prime Minister Kovacevski and the heads of government of Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, alongside the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, it seems it is clear that Athens has called the centers of political importance for each state. In this sense, if someone should go from Albania, it should be Edi Rama. The Greek provocation is that due to the tense situation between the two countries, after the arrest of Fredi Beleri, they have blacklisted Rama. They wanted to send a signal that by ordering the imprisonment and keeping the elected mayor of Himara in prison,

The Greek side could have been more protocol and careful. They could camouflage their selection with the fact that 20 years ago, in Thessaloniki, the Albanian delegation was headed by former president Moisiu, therefore they had now invited his successor. But, no, the Greeks know how to be arrogant to the point of rudeness when they want to. The media with sources from the Maksimus Palace hastened to make it clear that Edi Rama is being punished for desecrating the rule of law in Albania. In fact, they were not satisfied with just leaked news to the press, but the Greek government's spokesman, Pavlos Marinakis himself, came out to make it clear that the missing invitation to Prime Minister Edi Rama was a consequence of his stance on the Fredi Beleri case.

Në këto kushte, një kryetar dinjitoz shteti i kishte të plota argumentat për ta prapësuar “dhuratën” provokative greke. Ai mund të bëhej serioz dhe të thoshte se në këto rrerhana qe i detyruar ta refuzonte ftesën. Nëse Athina e përcakton humorin e saj nga qefmbetjet politike edhe të drejta qofshin ato, Bajram Begaj, nuk duhet të kishte asnjë kompleks t’i përgjigjej me të njëjtën monedhë.

Por, fatkeqësia është se në këtë rast presidenti ynë nuk ka arsyetuar si shtetar, por si një lake i kryeministrit. Ky i fundit, pa denjuar ndoshta t’ia thotë as vetë, ka dërguar ndonjë këshilltar për t’ia komunikuar urdhërin se e ka të ndaluar të udhëtojë: “ti nuk mund të shkosh në këmbë të shefit”.

Prandaj në vend të një qëndrimi dinjitoz, i gjori Begaj, është dashur të gjejë një gënjeshtër që se beson as vetë. Ai i’u përgjigj grekëve që nuk shkonte në takim se e kishte axhendën të zënë.Pra se ai paskërsh më shumë punë edhe se presidenti i Serbisë, se kryeministri i Kosovës, Maqedoinisë, Kroacisë, Bullgarisë apo Rumanisë. Qesharake deri në ulërimë.

Njësoj si në rastin e ardhjes së Klintonit, kur Rama as nuk e përfilli, harroi ta përfshijë dhe në protokollin e rëndësishëm dhe presidenca u detyrua të shpikë një justifikim shëndetësor për mungesën në ceremoni.

Në logjikën e Ramës ai ka çuar një kukullën e tij në presidencë dhe kaq i del e i tepron për ta përdorur në mënyrën si po bën. Po me të njëjtën shpërfillje përbuzëse, kryeministri shkoi në mbeledhjen e përvitshme të OKB-së në vend të Begajt, duke prishur një regull të pashkruar të vendosur që në vitet 2000-jë, sipas të cilit, një vit shkon kreu i qeverisë e më pas kreu i shtetit. Rama as u merakos shtatorin e vjetshëm se radha i takonte Bajrom Begajt.
