5 uncertainties of an ordinary day in Albania
Grigels Muçllari

Uncertainties are the circles that accompany the life of an Albanian every hour, as soon as the day starts.

The recent events in Tirana put the most serious thing at the forefront, the uncertainty about life. The life that is taken so easily at the door of the school, at the door of the bar, at the door of the University. The state police are not where they should be. It bears no responsibility. Minister, anti-PD hawk. In the disclosure of some investigation files, it is seen how powerful criminal groups appoint bosses and directors. The uniforms show their teeth at the protesters.

Next comes food insecurity. The products on the market, which we consume, which we take for granted, do not pass the proper filter. No one guarantees whether they are healthy, whether they are within the deadline, whether they contain harmful elements. We have a government agency that should carry out this work, but it reacts very late even when others, neighboring or EU authorities, warn about any suspicious product. Recently, it was reported that 57 percent of our exports were returned from Europe. A drama about local production, about the farmer. Why? Because AKU does not exist. The minister in office bears no responsibility.

Medication insecurity is an alarm. The High State Control has discovered that in the last 3 years dozens of types of drugs in hundreds of thousands of doses have entered us, and have been taken by people, without being subjected to laboratory analysis. There is a government structure that should provide this service. It is called the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices. KLSH found that basic investments have been missing there for 3 years and the laboratory has not been modernized and does not function properly. Meanwhile, according to the government, medicine is free and better than in England and Italy. The responsible minister attacks the Opposition.

Environmental insecurity is at alarming levels. We all already know that here we have toxic waste, which is left uncovered in the middle of the port, dangerous substances with which there is illegal, international trade. We have a government agency and a Ministry that must guarantee that this does not happen. They are, but they don't do the job. The lady in charge has a whim to show us how the pie is made in Gjirokastër, while for this major public concern, she blames others.

Legal uncertainty is already a fact. It's up to the Prime Minister, he arrests the leader of the Opposition, jails his opponents for a press conference. Where will you appeal? Even on Thursday at dinner, the highest Court in the country, which is supposed to be the one with the most integrity, did not have the courage to break Edi Rama's mood and deliver justice.

This is Albania 2030. Where the government should be present to provide security, it does not exist, and appears with its brutal foot to violate the security that the Constitution gives us. So the rebirth with its great boss, fails and is absent where it should be, and when it comes, it comes only for bad, for harm. And there are people who wonder why in the studies that are done, in the happiness index, we are at the end of the world.

Change is not enough. A revolution is needed.
