Iconic twins Alice and Ellen Kessler pass away

Twins Alice and Ellen Kessler, known as one of the most beloved artistic couples on the European stage, have died at the age of 89 in Munich. Assisted suicide is suspected, and German authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Born on August 20, 1936 in Saxony, Alice and Ellen began their careers as children, gaining fame first in Paris and then in Italy.

They performed on television programs such as Studio Uno, Canzonissima and La Fabbrica dei Sogni, and acted in films alongside big names such as Alberto Sordi and Walter Chiari. Their hits, such as Da-da-un-pa and La notte è piccola, remained unforgettable for the Italian public.

After a long career in Italy, the twins returned to Germany in 1986, but continued to perform at special events, including Sanremo in 2014. /CNA
