A romantic comedy in Los Angeles/ Meghan Markle returns to the screen after 7

Meghan Markle is returning to the big screen with a small role in the film “Close Personal Friends.” The comedy, which is currently filming in Los Angeles, also stars Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, Brie Larson and Henry Golding.

The story is said to revolve around an "ordinary" couple who meet a famous couple during a trip to Santa Barbara. When the two couples become friends, boundaries are crossed and things get difficult.

Markle starred on “Suits” for seven seasons and appeared in films like “Horrible Bosses” and “Remember Me” before marrying Prince Harry in 2018. She hasn’t acted in more than seven years, although her and Prince Harry’s company, Archewell Productions, renewed its first deal with Netflix in August.

Meghan Markle gave up her job on the American network's "Suits" to focus on her role as the Duchess of Sussex.

"I have chosen this path and I feel very proud of the work I have done there, and now it is time to work with Harry as a team," Meghan said.

In 2020, the couple announced they were stepping back from royal duties and would split their time between Santa Barbara and the United Kingdom. /CNA
