In a year filled with extraordinary events, "The Simpsons" seems to have predicted reality once again, leaving fans and skeptics alike to wonder about its uncanny ability to predict major events.

2023 reignited the debate over whether these were mere coincidences or something more.

From Lady Gaga's Super Bowl entrance to the Covid-19 pandemic and Donald Trump's presidency, "The Simpsons" has a long history of mirroring real-life events.

The Simpsons writers credited the episode's inspiration to the 1996 film Crimson Tide, rejecting claims of a prequel. Mike Reiss, writer, producer of the series, argued that the connection of the episode with the real event was purely coincidental.

"The Simpsons" seemingly predicted the 2023 Barbie craze sparked by the Greta Gerwig movie.

The 1994 episode "Lisa vs Malibu Stacey" features Lisa Simpson's campaign for a more empowered Malibu Stacey doll, reflecting the resurgence of the iconic Barbie doll in popular culture, led by Margot Robbie's portrayal in the film Barbie.

"The Simpsons" also appeared to hint at Donald Trump's political downfall.

In an episode touting the success of the Barbie movie, news anchor Kent Brockman briefly mentions, "Oh, and the president was arrested."/ CNA
