This Thursday, the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Metropolis of Apollonia and Fier was commemorated, as well as the Enthronement of the Metropolitan, His Grace Monsignor Nikola.

The solemn Mass lasted more than three hours, with the participation of a large number of believers, led by the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Beatitude Joan, and the Holy Synod.  

The 10th anniversary of the creation of the Metropolis of Apollonia and Fier is

Bishop Nikola was elected a decade ago by unanimous vote by the Holy Synod to take over the leadership of this important metropolitanate. At that time, it was decided that the city of Fier, together with the surrounding churches and the considerable number of Orthodox believers, would be organized into a separate metropolitanate, as an integral part of the structure of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

Now, 10 years later, the Metropolis of Apollonia and Fier marks another important moment, with the inauguration of its new building, which will serve as a center for the development of official activities and church life in this region.
