The well-known painter from Elbasan, Gazment Xhaferri, comes this time to the art-loving public with a new exhibition.

The exhibition titled "Elbasan on Canvas" opens on April 25th and the rare works will be placed in the lobby of the city's 'Skampa' Theater.

In an interview with CNA , painter Xhaferri shares details of these works, which according to him belong to the style of urban landscapes from Elbasan, taking us back a little in time, as the landscapes date from 1916 to the present day.

"The theme is Elbasan on canvas. There are urban landscapes from the city of Elbasan, dominated by the historic alleys of the Elbasan Castle and streets of Elbasan that no longer exist," the painter says.

The artist brings these special works through various techniques, which also offer a variety of optical perspectives to the public.

"All these works are in different techniques, such as watercolor, oil, acrylic and palette knife. They are all works made on canvas," Xhaferri told CNA.

This exhibition brings together around 35 different works on canvas and, as the painter tells CNA , the greatest inspiration for these landscapes is inexhaustible and he discovers the reason himself.

"Some 35 works will be exhibited. Inspiration comes from my hometown, where I live. It never runs out. Through paintings, it awakens memories, brings back the past, it is nostalgia. All art lovers who have perhaps stayed for a short time in Elbasan, when they look at these paintings, they also have a story or memories of those times they lived in this wonderful city with history and traditions," says painter Xhaferri.
