The cultural weekend brought art lovers to Gjirokastër the artistic event "From Innocence to Innocence". The performance combines elements of image, modern ballet, theater and music. The work treats emigration as a metaphor for leaving one's homeland.

"They are human values, they have to do with human life, with the current state of a person's birth until the moment he thinks he has the strength to move forward, has the strength to share it with other people. We generally do not share things, neither difficulties nor smiles," says dancer Julian Bulku.

The play is also a personal message as the written text includes the life experiences of the three creators.

"It's a kind of call to think because Albanians haven't had the luxury, the privilege to think about existential things because they have always been poor in an attempt to enrich themselves perhaps materially, and this is a call to think about life, about the issues of being human, about the difficulties of birth, death, emigration," says author Kleitia Vaso.

Combined with national artistic values, the performance "From Innocence to Innocence" has been followed with interest on stages abroad.

"The play has traveled to Florida, various festivals outside the borders of Albania, this makes me honored, beautiful, I speak Albanian in the play, I am happy that in a foreign country, even though the audience is foreign, they understand my Albanian, my personal pain in life," says Bulku.

Cultural activities are being organized in Gjirokastra over the weekends, which enliven the stone city in the winter season./ CNA
