The Saudi Embassy in Tirana celebrates International Arabian Leopard Day in

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Albania organized a special activity on the occasion of International Arabian Leopard Day, in collaboration with the Tirana Zoo, with the aim of emphasizing the importance of protecting this rare species and raising environmental awareness in the community.

The event was attended by high-ranking personalities from the diplomatic field and state institutions, including Arab ambassadors accredited to Albania, the vice-president of the region, Mr. Barid Shehani, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Ms. Jona Droiçi, the president of the Information Agency under the Council of Ministers, Mr. Alteo Hysi, as well as Dr. Arben Ramkaj, president of the Center for Interfaith Cooperation and the rector of New York University, in addition to a number of entrepreneurs from Albania and Kosovo.

Environmental march and cultural celebration

The activity began with a march from Lake Tirana to the Zoo, as a symbol of the connection with nature and the promotion of the culture of environmental protection.

Upon arrival at the Zoo, official speeches were held. The Zoo Director gave a welcoming speech, followed by a speech by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Faisal Hifzi, who emphasized the importance of environmental cooperation between the two countries and the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting global initiatives for nature protection.

Cultural and artistic activities for children

Part of the celebrations were also entertaining and educational activities for children, including a theatrical performance on the importance of preserving the environment, as well as musical performances and interactive songs to promote environmental education in a fun and engaging way.

A special corner of the event was dedicated to traditional Saudi hospitality, where attendees enjoyed Arabic coffee, dates, and traditional dishes, creating a special cultural atmosphere and further bringing the cultures of the two countries closer together.

Wide participation and positive feedback

The event attracted a large number of citizens, pupils and students, who expressed great interest in the organized activities. Participants appreciated the efforts made to organize this event and the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in promoting environmental awareness and preserving global biodiversity.
