Reconstruction of the "Saint Prokop" church

The reconstruction of the church of St. Procopius continues in the Artificial Lake Hills. CNA brings images from the works being carried out in one of the most important churches of the Albanian Orthodox faith. The reconstruction started in April last year.

For years, Archbishop Anastas had a permanent goal of its reconstruction, but an obstacle was the lack of ownership.
After receiving the latter and thanks to the contribution of businessman Mihal Delijorgji, the greatness and historical, cultural and religious significance will be restored for all Orthodox believers.
Music
Delijorgji is building not only a cult and religious facility, but also a school for children. The Church of Saint Prokop was built in 1780 and the saint is considered the patron of the city of Tirana.
In 1967, the church of St. Prokop also suffered the fate of all other cult objects. She was mutilated, having her bow parts removed. Cafe-restaurant "Liqeni" was built in its place.
What remained of the church of Saint Prokop returned to its previous function only after almost 30 years, in 1993, but with a completely changed appearance. Meanwhile, the proper importance that this church has had over the centuries will be restored. /CNA
