Lazar Fundo

Llazar Fundo, the intellectual of Korça, one of the contributors to the foundation of today's European Union, was the visionary man who sketched a great dream for Federal Europe, being at the side of Alterio Spinelli.

On the initiative of the Mayor of Korçë, Sotiraq Filo, at today's meeting of the City Council, the proposal was approved that the small square in front of the municipality should be named after Fundo, one of the most prominent figures of Korçë who have left a mark in history.

The great contribution of Llazar (Zai) Fundos has brought the evaluations of the citizens of Korça, politicians and intellectuals who know his figure well.

This year coincides with the 80th anniversary of the execution of Fundo, while it was the political leader of the SP, Niko Peleshi, who announced this initiative exclusively to CNA, which was made official today. ( Read here )

Llazar Fundo, together with other international intellectuals, participated in the drafting of Ventotena's manifesto for a Free Europe, which would keep its countries away from war.
