“Trace, Light, Form, Life”/ Exhibition that unites sculpture and

The “Guri Madhi” Art Gallery in Korça has recently become a space where visual art communicates through form, light and material. The exhibition “Traces, Light, Form, Life” brings to the public an artistic collaboration between sculptor Vladimir Topi and graphic artist Gentian Zeka, two well-known names in visual art, who present works created over the years.

This exhibition combines wood sculptures and modern graphics, creating an artistic dialogue between two different genres, but which, according to the authors, are based on the same creative concept. The exhibited works convey emotions, reflections and different artistic interpretations, bringing a unique aesthetic experience to visitors.

The exhibition includes around 16 sculptures by Vladimir Topi and around 65 graphics by Gentian Zeka. The works were created in different time periods and represent the artistic evolution of the two authors, combining many years of experience, aesthetic research and contemporary techniques of creation.

" Yes, I believe it is the same concept, this unites us. Looking for form, as in graphics, as in sculpture. There maybe volume is missing, but the concept is the same. Whereas sculpture is the same concept, but in a third, different form. This is it ," said the sculptor.

For Vladimir Topi, graphic art and sculpture are connected through the search for form and artistic idea. While graphics are expressed in the visual plane, sculpture comes to life in three dimensions, giving the concept another dimension. This is the second time that the two artists have combined their creativity in a joint exhibition. After the first experience in the city of Pogradec, this year they come to Korça with a more complete and artistically richer presentation.

" With Gentiani, this is the second exhibition we have opened together. The first was in Pogradec, and we had an exhibition in this format. But this year it is probably more complete. Gentiani has about 65 graphics, I have about 16 sculptures ," said sculptor Topi.

The exhibited works also carry the personal artistic history of the authors. Some of Vladimir Topi's sculptures date back to the late 1980s, while others are more recent creations, creating a long panorama of creativity.

" Of course. There is work, at least my work dates back to '87 and up until today ," said the sculptor.

The exhibition has attracted the attention of artists, art lovers and numerous visitors, who appreciate it as an activity of high artistic and cultural level. According to icon restorer Tatjana Caca, the presented works convey outstanding aesthetic and professional values.

"To be honest, I am in front of a very dignified exhibition and both artists have presented very beautiful, valuable works. Both Vladimir Topi with his wood sculptures, and Gentian Zeka with his graphics. The graphics are interesting with different motifs, with different techniques ," said restorer Caca.

She states that the exhibition creates positive emotions and impressions in the public, while at the same time serving as a way to bring people closer to visual art and contemporary forms of artistic expression.

" So, all artists, both art lovers and ordinary people, when they visit this exhibition, will get beautiful impressions, good feelings, even if they don't start and learn something from these types of exhibitions ," said Caca.

The exhibition focuses on human figures, modern treatments of form, the combination of materials and experimentation with artistic techniques. One of the works that has attracted the attention of visitors is the sculpture depicting the figure of a Balkan woman, where wood and metal are intertwined.

" The sculpture there with the figure of that Balkan woman, dressed in a costume, with the technique combining wood and metal is also beautiful. It is very interesting ," declared the restorer.

Through this exhibition, the artists aim to bring closer to the public not only their works, but also the importance of art as a form of communication and reflection. While Korça continues to remain one of the most active cultural centers in the country, such activities are seen as an opportunity to promote contemporary art and create more exhibition spaces for artists. The exhibition “Traces, Light, Form, Life” will remain open to the public at the “Guri Madhi” Art Gallery until May 27./CNA
