Two people have been arrested in Tirana after stealing a safe containing valuables from an apartment. Citizens AH, 45, and AG, 48, were arrested.

They were caught red-handed immediately after stealing a safe, inside which were valuables and 1 firearm with ammunition, which was possessed with permission by the owner of the apartment.

Also, as part of the police operation, a business premises was discovered by the 48-year-old, who modified various keys to enable the opening of apartment locks.

Police announcement:

Tirana/The police operation codenamed "Access" is being finalized by Police Station No. 4.

A safe containing valuables was stolen from an apartment on "Zihni Sako" street, 2 citizens were identified, caught red-handed and handcuffed.

The arrested are suspected of having committed thefts in Durrës and in the territory of Police Station No. 2, where they took valuables and sums of money.

A business-camouflaged environment is discovered, where it is suspected that one of the arrested was modifying various keys to open apartment locks.

Safes, valuables, 2 vehicles and 1 motorcycle worth around 30,000 euros were seized.

The Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Station No. 4, after receiving a report that a safe containing valuables had been stolen from the apartment of citizen RO, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Access" to investigate and document the case.

As a result of the operation, citizens AH, 45 years old, and AG, 48 years old, both residents of Tirana, were identified, caught red-handed immediately after committing the theft, and placed in handcuffs.

These citizens, on 03.04.2026, were caught red-handed immediately after stealing a safe, inside which there were valuables and 1 firearm with ammunition, which was possessed with permission by the owner of the apartment, on "Zihni Sako" street.

During the search of the premises set up as a business by citizen AG, it was found that this citizen was modifying various keys to enable the opening of apartment locks.

Also, these citizens are suspected of having committed thefts of sums of money and valuables in an apartment in Durrës and in the territory of Police Station No. 2.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. / CNA
