Over 8,000 cannabis plants seized in Shkodra/ 5 village heads prosecuted

Controls in the territory of Shkodra for narcotics ended with the destruction of 8028 suspected cannabis sativa plants. Also, 5 village heads were criminally prosecuted for abuse of office.

In the territory of the administrative units of Pult and Shosh, the services of the Shkodra Police Commissariat found and destroyed 7,073 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants.

Following the procedural actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated in the absence of the mayor of the village of Ndrejaj, citizen NV; the mayor of the village of Lekaj, citizen PS; the mayor of the village of Nicaj, citizen VV; the mayor of the village of Plan, citizen N. Sh.; and the mayor of the village of Kir, citizen PH, for the criminal offenses "Abuse of office" and "Failure to report a crime."

In the territory of the Kelmend administrative unit, the services of the Malësi e Madhe Police Commissariat found and destroyed 780 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants.

In the territory of the Temal administrative unit, the services of the Vau i Dejës Police Commissariat found and destroyed 175 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants.

Work continues to identify, capture and hold accountable the perpetrators of the cultivation of narcotic plants. /CNA
