Opposition protest/State Police: 6 police officers injured

The State Police announced just a few minutes ago that six police officers were injured in the rally held by the Democratic Party.

The injured, namely members of the "Eagle" Special Force, the National Security Force and the Road Police, are receiving medical assistance at the Trauma Hospital and the QSUT.

Their health condition is stabilized and they are out of danger, under the care of doctors.

"The State Police, during the rally, called on the participants in the rally, through the Voice Center, not to engage in acts of violence and not to attack Police officers with Molotov cocktails and pyrotechnics, but some of the participants attacked Police officers.

The State Police had taken measures to preserve institutions, public order and security and remains fully committed to guaranteeing the exercise of the citizen's right to protest.

At the same time, it strongly condemns the repeated acts of violence against police officers on duty, as well as against state institutions," the announcement states, among other things./ CNA
