A worker was injured at work/Three arrested, the director of Community Services

Three people in charge of the Maintenance Sector at the Community Services Directorate in Gjirokastra have been arrested after an employee was injured at work. The three arrested are suspected of the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety regulations".

Meanwhile, the Director of Community Services has been declared wanted, as he has not appeared to provide explanations and make available the necessary documentation for a full investigation of the case. The Labor Inspectorate has also been notified of the incident.

Police announcement:

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto citizens P. Ç., 46 years old, AB, 61 years old and AL, 58 years old, all three residents of Gjirokastra, with the duty of "Responsible" in the Maintenance Sector at the Community Services Directorate, Gjirokastra, suspected of the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety regulations".

The procedural actions were carried out after on 03.03.2026, at around 13:30, in the "Zinxhira" neighborhood, while cleaning a building, a 55-year-old employee is suspected of having accidentally fallen from the second floor of the building, and is currently under the care of doctors.

Furthermore, in relation to this case, the Director of the Community Services Directorate, Gjirokastra, suspected of the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", citizen AO, 54 years old, resident of Gjirokastra, has been declared wanted, as he has not appeared to provide explanations and make available the necessary documentation for the full investigation of this case.

The Labor Inspectorate has also been notified regarding the case.
