Internationally wanted for planning two murders/ 43-year-old Albanian extradited

A 43-year-old Albanian man internationally wanted for planning two murders was extradited from France to Albania today.

Specifically, it concerns citizen AS, 43 years old, to whom the Court of Durrës has imposed the measure "Arrest with imprisonment". The 43-year-old is accused of having planned the murder of two citizens by providing firearms or vehicles, but without being able to carry them out.

This citizen is also suspected of being involved in a case of extortion through threats in 2023.

Interpol Tirana/Another phase of the codenamed operation "The Wanted" is finalized.

Accused of providing conditions and means for the murder of 2 citizens, the 43-year-old is extradited from France.

The 43-year-old, a member of a criminal group, was captured in France in 2023, as part of the operation codenamed "Sete".

Following the close cooperation of Interpol Tirana specialists with their counterparts in France, within the framework of the codenamed operation "The Wanted", the procedures for the extradition from France to Albania of the citizen:

-AS, 43 years old, resident of France.

The Court of Durrës, in 2022, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" to this citizen, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and combat ammunition", "Providing conditions and means to commit murder" and "Structured criminal group".

Citizen AS is accused of having, in collaboration with other citizens (members of the criminal group), planned the murder of 2 citizens, providing vehicles, firearms and rented apartments, but being unable to carry out their murder.

Also, citizen AS is suspected of having been involved in a case of extortion of a sum of money (40,000 euros) at gunpoint in the region of Balarus, France, in 2023, within the framework of an organized gang. Regarding this incident, the Anti-Falconry Crime Unit in Albania and the National Office for Anti-Falconry Crime in France have exchanged information, as it was suspected that one of the perpetrators involved was an Albanian citizen.
