Sports betting was taking place at a bar in Tirana/ 3 in handcuffs, underage

Three people were arrested, including the owner of a bar in Tirana, for engaging in illegal gambling activities.

As part of the police operation codenamed "Coefficient", citizens were arrested: EB, 65 years old (owner of the bar), E. Zh., 36 years old, and OD, 26 years old, and the 17-year-old minor waiter was criminally prosecuted.

Announcement:

The Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Commissariat No. 4, as a result of the intensification of controls and operational police work, with the aim of identifying and cracking down on cases of illegal organization of gambling, finalized the operation codenamed "Coefficient".

During the operation, it was found that the owner, 2 customers and the waiter (a minor citizen) at a bar on Dibra Street were placing sports bets using mobile phones.

At the conclusion of the procedural actions in the case, citizens EB, 65 years old (the owner of the bar), E. Zh., 36 years old, and OD, 26 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto, and proceedings were initiated for the 17-year-old.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
