Drug trafficking network hit/ Over 150 kilograms of cocaine seized, three

Three Albanian citizens, residing in Mantua, have been arrested by Italian authorities for trafficking and distribution of narcotics. The operation was carried out by the Treviso and Mantua Flying Squads, in coordination with the Treviso Public Prosecutor's Office.

During the investigation, the police seized a total of over 150 kilograms of cocaine, as well as quantities of hashish and a sum of money of around 55 thousand euros.

The first arrest was made in the Treviso area, where a 48-year-old Albanian was detained and around 20 kilograms of cocaine and half a kilogram of hashish were found in his vehicle, hidden in a specially modified space under the front seats.

The investigation then led to the tracking down of his two accomplices, SE, 31, and KM, 34, both residents of Mantua. During the search of SE's apartment, the police discovered 122 packages of cocaine under his bed, with a total weight that, together with other seizures, amounts to over 150 kilograms.

Also, during the search of the vehicles of the two arrested persons, secret compartments used for transporting drugs were discovered.

Italian authorities say the operation is linked to an earlier investigation, following the arrest of another suspect on April 3 near the train station in San Trovaso di Preganziol, where around 7 kilograms of cocaine were found in his vehicle. Investigations are ongoing./ CNA
