Accident that killed an elderly man/54-year-old man surrenders to police

The driver who fatally hit an 81-year-old man two days ago has surrendered to the police.

In a statement, police say that 58-year-old AM surrendered after being identified by the police.

The accident that took the elderly man's life occurred on April 18 on the Milot-Skuraj road axis.

The Volkswagen vehicle driven by the 58-year-old man hit the 81-year-old HK.

The Road Unit Services of the "Milot-Morinë" Highway, following the investigative and procedural actions carried out with the aim of bringing to criminal responsibility the perpetrator of the accident resulting in the death of citizen HK, 81 years old, which occurred on 18.04.2026, on the "Fushë Milot-Skuraj" road axis, made it possible to identify the vehicle that caused the accident.

As part of the actions, they detained citizen AM, 58 years old, resident of Kurbin, who was identified as the perpetrator of the incident.

This citizen surrendered after being identified by the police.

Also, the Volkswagen vehicle with which the detainee hit the 81-year-old was seized.

The procedural materials were referred to the Lezha Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Violation of road traffic rules", resulting in death, and "Leaving the scene of an accident".
