Zelenksy: Ukraine needs more time to counterattack

Ukraine needs more time to launch a long-awaited counteroffensive against Russian forces.

This is what the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, declared in an interview with the British "BBC" .

He stressed that the attack will also be a crucial test for Ukraine, eager to prove that the weapons and equipment it has received from the West can result in significant benefits on the battlefield.

Speaking at his headquarters in Kiev, President Zelensky described the combat brigades, some of which were trained by NATO countries, as "ready", but said the army still needed "some things", including vehicles armored vehicles that were "arriving in groups".

The president, however, expressed confidence that the Ukrainian military could make progress, warning of the dangers of a "frozen conflict" which, he said, was what Russia was "relying on".
