Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, who was taken off the air last month, said Tuesday that he would be resuming his show "soon" on Twitter.

Fox News Media and its top-rated anchor agreed to end their contract last month, shortly after parent company Fox Corp. agreed to pay $787.5 million in a defamation suit in which Carlson had a leading role.

Journalist Carlson passionately tackled conservative issues and expressed his views with a style that made his program, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," the most-watched cable news show for viewers ages 25 to 54 in the United States. United.

After his departure, the show of the same hour on 'Fox News', marked a drop in viewership.

"Starting soon, we're bringing a new version of the show we've been doing for six and a half years to Twitter," Mr. Carlson said in a video posted on Twitter. "We're going to offer some other things, which we'll let you know about later. But for now, we're just grateful to be on this platform."

The announcement comes weeks after Twitter owner Elon Musk conducted a two-part interview with journalist Carlson on Fox News.

Elon Musk, who considers himself an "absolute free speech" supporter, has said his goal is to make Twitter a digital hub where users can share their diverse views.

As journalist Carlson announced plans to restart his show on social media, Axios reported that his lawyers sent a letter to Fox accusing him of fraud and breach of contract.

Carlson's attorney did not respond to requests for comment. A spokesman for Fox Corp. declined to comment on the matter.

Fox's lawyers have asked Dominion Voting Systems lawyers to investigate whether Dominion is responsible for the leak to the press of journalist Carlson's private messages, which Fox says played a role in the decision to fire him.
