The prime minister of Finland is divorcing her husband after 19 years

Finland's outgoing prime minister, Sanna Marin, is in the process of divorcing after 19 years of marriage.
Together with her husband, Markus Raikkonen, they have expressed through a post on "Instagram" that they are grateful for the years they have spent together and for their beloved daughter.
"We are grateful for the 19 years we have been together and our beloved daughter. We will remain very good friends" , they declared.


They were celebrated in 2020, while Marin was prime minister and one of the biggest challenges at that time for her was the management of the pandemic.
"We have experienced a wonderful love story and are parents of a daughter ," Marin wrote on "Instagram".

Ms Marin, 37, became the world's youngest prime minister when she took office in 2019. But in April she lost a close race to the National Coalition Party, led by Petteri Orpo, and the populist Party of the Finnish right, led by Riikka Purra.


The Prime Minister of Finland is often in the media's focus for her personal life. Last year, a video of her appeared on social networks at a private party, singing, dancing and drinking alcohol.
