The largest active volcano in the world erupts

The largest active volcano in the world, Mauna Loa, has erupted for the first time in almost 40 years.

This volcano is located in Hawaii - American territory.

The lava has been located in the estimated perimeter, but the residents of the nearby areas have been warned about the danger of volcanic ash.

The United States Geological Survey has said that the situation could change very quickly.

The Mauna Loa volcano is located 4,169 meters above sea level and extends over a territory of over 5,179 kilometers.

The activation of the volcano comes after several earthquakes that have been reported in this region since Sunday.

According to US authorities, Mauna Loa has erupted 33 times since 1843.

The last major eruption was reported in 1984./REL
