USA: Russia postpones nuclear weapons inspection talks

Russia has postponed talks with the United States on nuclear weapons, which were scheduled to be held this week in Cairo, the US State Department announced on November 28, as neither side gave a reason for the postponement of the talks.

Officials from both countries were scheduled to meet in the Egyptian capital from November 29 to December 6 to discuss resuming inspections under the New START treaty, which aims to reduce nuclear weapons. Talks were suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
