USA and EULEX worried about resignations of Serbian policemen

The United States of America and the mission of the European Union for the Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) have expressed concern, after they said that three Serbian members of the Kosovo Police have resigned.

"EULEX is closely following these disturbing developments. The composition of the police should reflect and represent the society they serve and protect. Members of the non-majority communities of the Kosovo Police can contribute to the security of their communities through patrolling ," wrote the head of the EULEX mission in Kosovo, Giovanni Pietro Barbanone X, formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, the American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, said that they are closely following the developments.

"We reiterate our commitment to a multi-ethnic Kosovo police force. I have said it several times, the Kosovo Police exists to serve all communities in Kosovo and for police officers to be able to carry out their work freely and without intimidation. We are closely following these developments", he wrote in X.
