Bad weather in Sweden, train derails, 3 injured

Sweden is currently at the center of a wave of bad weather with heavy rain and winds affecting the entire country, ANSA reports.

Around 12:30 today, a train with 120 passengers derailed in Hudiksvall, about 300 km north of Stockholm.

Three people were sent to hospital. The train was traveling at low speed due to flooding on that part of the railway.
In southern Sweden, some houses were flooded and some cars were stuck due to rising waters.

Maritime transport has also been affected, with several scheduled ferries suspended and flights from Stockholm and Gothenburg airports severely delayed.

The Swedish Meteorological Service kept the yellow alert in force throughout the day in various parts of Sweden./CNA.al
