Assassination in Laç/ Perpetrator identified

The police have managed to identify the perpetrator of last night's attack in Laç, where the victim was citizen IL.

The perpetrator is the citizen with the initials ES, who has been declared wanted. 

"The authorship of the murder committed yesterday evening in Kurbin is clarified and documented."

The main suspected perpetrator of the crime has been identified, a 40-year-old man with a significant criminal record, both domestically and abroad.

Intensive checks are continuing to capture him.

As a result of intensive and professional investigations, conducted by the special investigative group, composed of experts from the structures of the Lezha Local Police Directorate and the Kurbin Police Commissariat, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, immediately after the murder with a firearm of citizen I. Gj., alias IL, alias IK, alias IN, at around 22:10 on 09.07.2026, in Kurbin, it became possible to identify the main suspected perpetrator of this crime.

Specifically, citizen ES, alias AS, 40 years old, resident of Laç, was identified and declared wanted.

The verifications showed that the 40-year-old had previously been sentenced to 5 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Threat in the Cause of Duty", and had a criminal record for illegal possession of weapons. He was also arrested in Belgium for theft.

To capture the 40-year-old, the services of the National Security Force, Shkodra Unit, have also been engaged to assist the local police. The checks continue intensively.

Meanwhile, investigations continue to fully document the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify and detain other citizens who may have been involved in this incident.
