Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu traveled to Minsk on Saturday to meet with his Belarusian counterpart and President Alexander Lukashenko, according to Russian and Belarusian state media.

Shoigu discussed military training and regional security during his meeting with Lukashenko, according to Russian state news agency TASS.

According to the Department of International Military Cooperation of Belarus, during a previous meeting with the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Viktor Khrenin, the two signed an agreement on cooperation in defense and regional security.
