The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, commented on Edi Rama's statement that KFOR should take control of the north of Kosovo. 

In an interview for the Bosnian media Hayat TV, Kurti said that everywhere in Kosovo, the police respond first, then KFOR and then EULEX.

"On the proposal of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama that KFOR take control of the north of Kosovo. We need joint patrols of our police and KFOR on the border between Kosovo and Serbia. And as for other things, this has already been decided. Everywhere in Kosovo, the first to respond is our police, then EULEX and then KFOR. And I don't think this formula should be changed", said Kurti.

On Thursday, in a press conference, Edi Rama said that there should be no hesitation and that Kosovo needs KFOR. 

"KFOR must take control of the north. Any hesitation and delay, and with the argument of the last few hours that we have troops or not, could make tomorrow's KFOR intervention much greater in terms of troops and difficulties. That's why I'm here today and I'm glad that Kosovo is also asking KFOR in the north. I am glad that yesterday President Osmani asked for the help of the USA for the association draft. I don't know what the opinion of the strategic allies is about this request, but basically the request is positive and it is a step in the right direction on the part of Kosovo", said Rama. /CNA
