Earthquake in the Philippines / 69 deaths reported

Foreign media reports that 69 people have died in a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the central Philippines.

Cebu province has declared a state of emergency after the earthquake, which caused extensive damage to buildings, churches, cracked roads and bridges.

Rescue teams are searching through the rubble for survivors, while authorities rush to distribute aid and restore power and communication lines.
