Wanted in several countries for drug trafficking/ Mafioso caught, part of the Ndragheta network

A fugitive from the Italian authorities linked to the "Ndrangheta" mafia network has been arrested in Colombia after the Interpol operation against the Ndrangheta.

Massimo Gigliotti, 55, was wanted internationally by Italian authorities for trafficking large quantities of cocaine from South America to Europe.

Authorities had notified their counterparts in Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Panama and Venezuela about the investigation and search for the 55-year-old.

Gigliotti was arrested by the Colombian Police after officers from the Carabinieri's Investigative Operative Department in Bologna analyzed and circulated information from EUROPOL. They cooperated with the I-CAN and INTERPOL units in Lyon, with the support of an Italian officer in Colombia./ CNA
