Lost his partner in the Hamas attack/ Survivor of the October 7 massacre ends his life

A survivor of the massacre at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, took his own life a day earlier. Roei Shalev, whose partner, Mapal Adam, was found dead in a burning car on a highway exit near Netanya.

Meanwhile, Israeli police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death. Shalev was injured in the Hamas-led attack on the Nova festival near Re'im, and his friends said he never recovered from the trauma and the loss of his partner.

Shortly before his death, Shalev posted a message on social media saying he "couldn't go on any longer" and apologizing.

Concerned friends and Nova community members launched a search after he failed to respond to their calls. His car was found burning and firefighters later found his body in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene./CNA
