A few weeks ago he got engaged/ The 24-year-old ex-footballer loses his battle

Former England youth footballer Ben Cull has died aged 24 after a brave battle with cancer.

Ben, who represented England U16s, was forced to retire aged 17 after being diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer known as Ewing's sarcoma. 

The diagnosis ended his hopes of a football career.
However, the cancer returned with a routine lung scan shortly before Ben and his partner Daisy Morrison visited Paris to celebrate his 21st birthday in 2019, finding an abnormality in his lungs that turned out to be a tumor. He was told by doctors at the time that less than five percent of patients with his type of cancer live more than five years after their diagnosis.

In a heartbreaking Instagram post, Daisy wrote: "Hardest goodbye. Yesterday I lost my whole life, my fiancee, my soul mate, my person, my whole world. I always hoped and prayed that this day would never, ever come .Real heartbreak is real, my heart physically hurts and I have never felt pain like this. My mom and dad couldn't have chosen a better soulmate for me, they adore you, they think of you like a son and they're hurting so bad right now."
