Ajola Xoxa

Ajola Xoxa has shown us how art is used as a mechanism for corruption and money laundering, through the schemes she has built with her NGOs.

CNA has, in fact, for years, through denunciations and investigations, exposed money laundering and corruption schemes carried out by the Veliaj-Xoxa duo and continues to uncover details that show that the mayor and his wife are deeply involved in corruption and affairs.

In the SPAK decision, CNA has found another detail that connects Ajola Xoxa to the Sharra landfill.

What was discovered?

One of the key persons for the investigations turned out to be citizen Erald Ismaili.

Erald Ismaili is the person who appears in the file as the person Ajola Xoxa used to make purchases with staggering amounts, which in the end, as reported by SPAK, amounted to 86,721,175 lek.

On 03.03.2025, Erald Ismaili was questioned as a person with knowledge of the circumstances of the investigation.

During the interrogation, as outlined in the SPAK decision, a very interesting detail emerges that connects Ajola Xoxa to the Sharra landfill.

Erald Ismaili explained that "MEG Albania", a company operating in the field of recycling and waste, was referred to him by Mayor Veliaj's wife, Ajola Xoxa, and Klotilda Bushka of the Laws Committee.

According to Erald Ismaili's statements, the client Vladimir Fezga, who was also the owner of "MEG Albania", had gone to Ajola Xoxa's office to open a business in nothing less than the Sharra landfill.

Fezga had gone to Ajola's office to obtain a type B environmental permit.

He had prepared the documentation, secured the expert for the Environmental Impact Assessment and made the application to the National Environmental Agency.

After receiving the permit, he remembered that the activity of the company "MEG Albania" had begun, but he had no information on how long it had continued.

"Regarding the case of the company 'MEG Albania', Erald Ismaili explained that this company had been referred to him by Ajola and Klotilda.

"Client Vladimir Fezga had come to Ajola's office to open a business in the Sharra landfill and to obtain a type B environmental permit. He had prepared the documentation, had secured the expert for the Environmental Impact Assessment and had made the application to the National Environment Agency. After obtaining the permit, he remembered that the activity of the company 'MEG Albania' had begun, but he had no information on how long it had continued," the SPAK decision states.

What is the result?

According to denunciations and media reports from the National Environmental Agency, it turns out that the company "MEG Albania" was granted an environmental permit to recycle urban waste in the Sharra landfill, just two months after this company had started work.

Vladimir Fezga and his company "Meg Albania", which benefited from Veliaj's contract for waste recycling in Sharra, were his previous acquaintances.

So, Ajola Xoxa is the person directly or indirectly involved in the Sharra landfill issue, because Erald Ismaili has said that the companies are not his, but Ajola Xoxa's and the latter is the person who prepared the documents. It is not known how far her importance goes and how involved she is, but we have this fact and other facts that link Ajola to these schemes./ CNA
